Can therapy help me?
Yes, it can. When you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anguish by your emotions, having a trained psychotherapist to guide and unlock deep emotions within you is key, It can bring light to the resources that you already have, but at that moment of distress is unattainable. Making the time and commitment to face your shadows and put light on it with caring and understanding is the key to transformation. Also, learning new skills to embrace and integrate parts of yourself is the path to get back in your feet. It is a healing process the goal of a good therapeutic alliance. However, the therapy outcome is determined by you, depends the time and commitment you invest to be open and vulnerable to open up to new possibilities to strengthen yourself and fulfill a more realistic health life, mind and choices.
How long does the therapy take?
It depends on a number of complex factors such as the type of issue, the severity, the commitment of the client …My goal is to build a therapist within you, and not keep you longer than necessary. Timing is going to be discuss during therapy, and you are going to see when you feel that is the right time to end the therapy. However, as a psychotherapist, the door will never be closed to further support when in your life some distress events needs to be processed again. As a psychotherapist, I truly believe that therapy is a healthy approach to process emotions over time, when we don’t take care of our emotions, the cost is higher for the mind and body.
How long is each session?
Does OHIP cover your work?
No, OHIP does not cover psychotherapy, only medical doctors, and psychiatrists.
Does extended health insurance plans cover psychotherapy?
Many of them cover it. Therefore, you need to check if your plan covers Registered Psychotherapists, then your plan reimburse you based on its terms and conditions.
What is your cancellation policy?
Two business days (2) (48 hrs) is required for cancellation of your appointment regardless of the reason for cancellation. It is understandable that illness and unexpected things will come up but, without adequate notice, it is unlikely that the time will be filled. If you cannot give, the notice required the regular fee would apply. If the appointment is filled, you will not be charged. If a couple’s session is booked and only one can make it, the session will have to be cancelled until we can reconvene all together.
